1. What is eDeclare?

eDeclare is a Web-based application developed by Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd (DNT) to facilitate preparation and submission of trade declarations via the Internet.
Developed with your business' needs in mind, it is an important first step towards a full fledge business exchange that will enable buying, selling and sourcing for information on a global scale among members of the transport and logistics community.

2. How is eDeclare different from the current software I am using?

eDeclare is a strategic tool that enables you to complete transactions as well as obtain information from a single point every time you are connected to the Internet.

With eDeclare, you no longer need to install three separate applications that cater to different trade declarations as you are doing now. Instead, the integrated applications and database is now hosted and maintained by DNT on its secure central server.

This way, DNT can undertake changes, updates and upgrades quickly and conveniently without having to come to your office and disrupt your work!

You can choose either of the following options, depending on your business needs and the volume of declarations.

If you are constantly on the move, you can use just a browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and above recommended) to access a readily hosted application and complete your data entry online.
You can also download a portion of the forms just as you would with for example, a RealPlayer, complete your data entry and go on the Internet again to upload the completed forms.

Or, you can purchase an enterprise version of eDeclare to install in your office's local Area Network (LAN) environment. With this option, you manage your own database while upgrades and changes can be downloaded from DNT's site.

3. Why should I use eDeclare instead of the current software?

As a web-based application, eDeclare is the way of the future. By switching to eDeclare, you actually get much more for less by tapping into various value added services designed to enhance your business processes.

You will also be taking the first step towards introducing your business to a global market. Through eDeclare, you are connected to a business exchange that will allow you to embark on e-business with your trading partners.

4. How does eDeclare benefit me?

Firstly, a single connection via your web browser allows you to access various services besides your usual Customs submission. You can now carry out multiple tasks at the same time.

For example, you can track your cargo, book space on shipping lines, book containers for your customer or simply search for tariff codes and rates.

Secondly, it is easy to use. Even non-technical and computer illiterate staff can use eDeclare.
Thirdly, you now have mobility instead of being bound to your office. You can access eDeclare from anywhere and at anytime. For example, you can perform a Port Klang Customs declaration while you are in Johor Bahru. This is bound by Customs' requirements at station level.

As long as you have a computer with Internet connection, you can do your work. You save precious time that ultimately translates into profitability.

Fourthly, there will no longer be heavy capital outlay to purchase, maintain or upgrade software! There is also minimal hard disk capacity cost.

Finally, DNT will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading the centrally hosted application. That means you need not worry about obsolete software on your computer. DNT can roll out upgrades much more easily and faster too.

5. How do I register as a user?

You can obtain the registration form via www.dagangnet.com or from Kedai EDI Johor Bahru (Tel: 07-507 1809). Fill in the required information and send the original forms to Dagang Net Technologies. Once your company's registration is verified, you will be notified by email. 6. How do I use eDeclare?

Simply log on to www.dagangnet.com, click on the eDeclare icon and choose the service you want.

7. Is it difficult to use eDeclare?

Not at all. If you have surfed the Internet with a browser before, it should be really easy. You should be instantly familiar with the web forms. Just fill up the relevant web form just like you would using the current software.

8. Can eDeclare support multiple users?

Yes.
